Two more women’s groups receive water filters

We are very happy to report that the team from UWCM were able to train 102 members from Kidega and Kazana women’s groups who each received a water filter donated by WaterMatters. Members learned how to fix the filters to their buckets and how to backflush and maintain them and UWCM will carry out follow up visits in 2 weeks and then 8-10 weeks to check that all is going well. The primary source of water for many of the families in this region are the Simu and Sisiyi rivers which makes families highly vulnerable to water borne diseases and so they were very happy to receive the filters which will allow them to drink clean, safe water.
